Don’t Give Away Music For Free : KISS

KISS Band Pic

Although it would be great for us to get free music, the idea doesn’t sound so great to the musician. At least we can see this notion on a remark made by the bassist of KISS, Gene Simmons. He said that those those artists, such as Radiohead, that give away music for free are “contributing to the demise of the record industry”.

The record industry is dead. It’s six feet underground and unfortunately the fans have done this. They’ve decided to download and file share. There is no record industry around so we’re going to wait until everybody settles down and becomes civilised. As soon as the record industry pops its head up we’ll record new material.

Another musician that follow Radiohead by giving away free music are Nine Inch Nail, Green Day, and Penywise.
